Community Heroes - EKTA

A big shout out to Ekta New Zealand Inc, a charity that has been quietly and consistently supporting Wellington residents for years by running multiple free grocery and hot food distributions every week in Wellington for those in need across multiple locations.

Last weekend in Newtown, Ekta gave away 200 blankets and 400 pairs of winter socks. There are further distributions in Lower Hutt. Recepients were also treated to some delicious food like fried rice, noodles, onion bhaji, samosas & spring rolls.

Recently, I was there to provide support for the community to enrol to vote.

We must not forget these unsung heroes who are doing great work in our community.
